Portabello Pixie Claire Dress Giveaway (closed)

WINNER UPDATE:  Andrea (#16 as chosen by Random.org)
I probably get asked about this pattern more than any other dress I sew.  Maybe because I sew so many of them...

This pattern is only available in paper (not pdf).  The instructions include all four versions seen below.  Everything I made above is made from this pattern!

and is available in sizes 6 months up to 6 years.  It used to be available on the designer Sandi Henderson's website directly, but I don't see it anymore and I suspect it is out of print.  There are still a few copies floating around on Etsy - if you like it, check there.

I have made an apron knot petal dress in size 12 - 18 months to give away.  (This is the same style of dress shown in the first two photos of this post.  Cuter on the model than lying flat on the floor.)  The straps are threaded through button holes then tie in a knot, so they are adjustable:
I think my favorite part of this dress style is decorating the apron.

To win this green and purple size 12 month dress, just leave a comment below.  Giveaway open to anyone in North America.  I will choose a winner on Valentine's Day via Random.org.

How sweet! How do you pick your fabrics? I am interested to know, because I love to sew and make things, but I stink at choosing colors/patterns that go together. I get overwhelmed at all of the options, then usually just end up with solid colors (they're safe). I'd love to be a bit less cautious, but I'd hate to make something and have it turn out really not-so-nice. *sigh* What's a girl to do?!! :)

Beautiful dress! Would love to have it! We would wear it for probably a week then pass it to my niece! We are having a growth spurt!!
By the way, I agree with the comment about choosing fabrics! Great topic and I could use some tips in that area too! Sounds like a blog topic for you if you have the chance!

This is a very unique dress.I love it.
You have a very creative way on the style of clothes you make.I have two daughters of my own and I love making clothes for them. It's a lot cheaper for a stay at home mom to be able to make her daughters the boutique style clothes that are so expense.I have just found your blog and I'am very addicted to it.Keep up the good work.

I make apron dresses sometimes and it has simply never occurred to me to decorate the apron like this. I add ribbon, sure, but never bother to do yo-yos, or appliques, or fabric paint stencils or anything. WHY DO I NOT DO THIS?! Ahhh!

Robin said...

What a wonderful combination of fabrics. I love your eye for fabric combos. Hope to get this one for my own little one.
