Jewels in the Snow

This is a winter activity that's been around for about as long as food coloring:  homemade snow jewels.
Just help the kids fill some flexible plastic containers (like old food containers) with water and a few drops of food coloring.  Let them freeze outside for a few hours and pop them out like ice cubes.
They look nice lining the sides of your walkway.
 She was so excited when I spread them in the snow.
If it wasn't snowing so hard while we were out here, you could see that we used them as decorations on a tree.
 Yep, that's a lot of snow.  (We live north of Montana). Thankfully some warmer weather is on the way!
