The Re-Sweatshirt Bag

Mr. Dork recently donated two sweatshirts to my refashion stash. I am happy to report that they have new life as an awkward-to-photograph, but very sturdy/handy grocery bag. The body of the bag is the lower torso of the shirts, and the handles are the sleeves reborn. I did lots of serging and topstitching to keep the knit from stretching too much, but the give in the body is great for accomodating a watermelon or two. (P.S. - making my grandma proud, that white undershirt she's wearing is a chopped up bit of sweatshirt sewn into a shirt that was way too low-cut for a twelve year old. I love recycling!)
