(closed) *NEW GIVEAWAY* Aromatherapy Bag (some assembly required)

If you weren't the lucky winner on my last giveaway, here's a second chance to try your luck:

I like to think that our bodies can heal themselves, given the right care and a little push from Mother Nature. That's why this aromatherapy bag appeals to me. Most hot bags that I encounter are a simple mix of rice and sometimes lavendar. This bag contains a number of dried herbs which believers in natural health will be familiar with:

CHAMOMILE and SPEARMINT - relaxants
WHITE WILLOW, ROSEMARY, PEPPERMINT and LEMON GRASS - relief for aches and pains
CINNAMON and VALERIAN ROOT - antispasmodic
SAW PALMETTO BERRY - rejuvenator
and of course, LAVENDAR for headache relief

I'm fortunate enough to live in a big city with a health food store that stocks all of these dried herbs. I add them to my lentil (my preference over rice) stuffing. The bag smells good, and I feel good using it. Heat from the hot bag helps open the pores of your skin so that the healing herbs enter the pores transdermally. And when I'm not feeling ill, this is simply a great foot/ crib/ carseat warmer on a cold night, or a nice pack on my neck when it gets sore from bending over the sewing machine or computer.

Quite simple to make, but the herbs may not be easy to gather. I'm giving away the blue and green flannel bag pictured above along with a packet of mixed herbs. It would be expensive to pay the post office to transport a whole lot of lentils your way, so the bag will come ready for you to stuff and sew the end closed. Just insert my mixed herb packet into your lentils before you work your magic with a needle and thread. (I'm already envisioning the sniffer dogs at Customs getting a whiff of this package, so I will make sure it is clearly labelled.)

TO ENTER: Simply leave a comment at the end of this post. Giveaway open to everyone (overseas too - let's give those Customs dogs something to bark about besides salami and cigars). I will choose one winner via Random.org. Giveaway open until late in the day on December 6, 2009. Just one more way for me to say, "Thanks for reading my blog."

Wow, that sounds marvelous, and even if I don't win, I think I'm going to try my hand at one! Do you keep the herbs in their own little bag or sprinkle them through-out the lentils? Yummy yummy!

Lentils! What a great idea! I always use flax to make eye pillows, but lentils would be even better! I even have some in my fridge right now.

Very cool, and very pretty! You're so talented. You're not a sewing dork, you're a sewing genius! A sewing fashionista! A sewing angel, showering blessings on those of us who can't sew very well. I love seeing your stuff, especially from the swap! Keep up the great work!

The first time I ever had to go through customs, Tracy Ullman was standing behind me in line! She talked loudly on her cell phone the whole time and she was wearing a top hat, ha.
